Peter Sheppard has been exhibiting his paintings in Trinidad and Tobago for the past 22 years.  He is self-taught and learned to paint by looking at his parents, Margaret and Stephen Sheppard, who themselves have exhibited over the years. Art is in his blood and his passion for the Visual Arts is evident in his work and well as the work he does for others. He is the past Vice-President of the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago for two consecutive terms spanning 5 years.

Peter is also a member of The Hilliard Society of Miniature Painters and Engravers in the United Kingdom where he has been exhibiting for the past 5 years. In 2013, the society there awarded him with their highest award, BEST IN SHOW for his miniature series in sepia. Peter Sheppard’s niche is painting in a miniature format with detailed and imagined compositions. This is a form of stylized realism and often the scenes appear familiar but are in fact, an extract of the artists imagination. Peter has his own style of painting with a specific interest in the environment. Acrylics are the only medium used and compositions are done on acrylic gesso board or canvas.  Sizes range from as small as 1”2” to an expansive 15’X6” being the largest painting he has done to day. Peter continues to work as his miniatures and mentors whenever needed. His next exhibition is scheduled for April 2017.
